Puzzle Piece Pot

I created this piece a while ago. I so enjoyed making it. This puzzle pot formed part of the Intellectual Property Exhibition at Alliance Francais in Durban earlier this year. It was my first larger piece that I made from Puzzle pieces. I had made some smaller simpler pieces for The Design Indaba Collab Exhibition in Durban in 2015.

As with the lampshades I made recently, I allowed the muted underside of the puzzle pieces to be the main colour, with the colourful surprise coming from underneath – as can be seen in the mirror base beneath the puzzle pot.

Twist Dyed Tablecloths with Annie Sloan

It was a great opportunity to put Annie Sloan Chalk Paint to the test as a fabric dye. Neither of us had tried it before, but we were delighted with the results.
